We here at Defence Mechanism Inc. believe in sharing some of the random wonderful things that we find amidst our busy, crazy lives.
Some years ago our very own Dr. Daniel X started working on a side-project named Razorback Hollow. Name after a graveyard in the move Pumpkinhead.

This project was pretty much an homage to the older style Industrial/EBM bands of the late 80′s and early 90′s.

Since it was pretty much abandoned after only completing 4 songs and would otherwise never see the light of day, we’ve decided to release it as an E.P. in all its unmastered glory, completely FREE.

P.S. Some of you will notice that one song “No Exit” actually made a brief appearance, albeit slightly re-worked, as a Defence Mechanism song and is still performed live.

A while back Dr. Daniel X did a remix for a wonderfully blippy/bloopy band from Germany called Reizstrom, of their song “The Hurting Light”

Since they enjoyed the remix so much they’ve decided to include it on their new album “Dwarves Like Giants”, which you can pre-order HERE should you happen to reside in Europe.

On a related note, Reizstrom’s very own Skip Intro, and Defence Mechanism’s Dr. Daniel X have decided to collaborate on a project that will be released in and around Christmas 2010.

Second; Dr. Daniel X has his fingers dipped in many musical pots. Namely MDM (Modern Digital Militia) and Wretchedpain.
After a bit of a hiatus MDM has started writing new material not only for a future release, but also vocalist Nux, and Dr. Daniel X have been working on music for a side-project of the Gothic Rock/Deathrock named “Necromancers Union”, which is slated to have something released just before Halloween 2010.

Wretchedpain’s DEBUT album “Congregation” has just been released and is available directly from the band throughout North America.

The North American release of “Invasion of the Robot Brains From Planet Zero” is upon us.
The album will be released in December 2010, complete with an 8-frame comic book drawn by Paul Sizer of Sizer Design+Illustration (the man responsible for our amazing album cover!)
In the new year we’ll be putting together a 2-disc Special Edition version of the album with a new track order (with some extended mixes and two NEW song), and a second disc consisting of a variety of remixes, and some video footage as well.

And speaking of videos…
The first official Defence Mechanism music video is still in the works.
There have been some changes, and production had to be pushed back.
But it IS happening….and it will be awesome.
